Welcome to Miracle Coon

I think that everyone's love affair with Maine Coons must start with one particular cat. In my case, it was a girl named Gypsy.

Several years ago, I attended a cat show in Grapevine, Texas, as a spectator. That day changed everything for me. I walked through the doors not knowing one thing about the Maine Coon breed, and walked out later that afternoon clutching a business card that had a picture of what I thought had to be the most beautiful cat I'd ever seen. After feasting my eyes on Gypsy, then observing the other friendly MC's benched nearby, I decided that someday I had to have a Maine Coon.

Timing is everything in relationships, and finding the right cat is no different. I put off getting another cat because I had an older cat at home that I did not want to upset. Then she got intestinal cancer and had to be put down. It was very hard to let her go and so sad. That same week, I got an email from a breeder in Colorado I had been talking to off and on. She had exciting news! One of her queens had just given birth to a kitten that matched the description of what I said I wanted. She emailed me a picture of this newborn, and I knew the moment I laid eyes on her, this was my kitten.

As the months went by, the pictures kept coming, and with every new picture I fell in love all over again. One day when I was looking at her 6 week pictures, I said out loud, "What a bonny little kitten!" From this statement evolved a name: Bonnie Butler, after Rhett and Scarlett's dark headed little girl.

Bonnie arrived at the DFW airport a couple months later, full of life and promise. She quickly won us over with her beauty, sweetness, chirpy meow, and clownish antics.

With the guidance of our mentors at Jayhawkcat, Bonnie was shown and received her Championship.

Our goal at Miracle Coon is to have a small breeding program, producing the highest quality kittens in limited numbers. We strive for "Quality, not quantity". In 2007, we made the decision to refine our breeding program and specialize in Platinum Silver tabbies.

Healthy kittens are of the utmost importance, therefore, our breeding cats are tested Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM)*. Equally important is producing loving companions; magnificent cats to love, enjoy and add a new dimension to your life!

We are located in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, and invite your inquiries.

* - Please note: Screening for HCM is currently the recommended method to aid in reducing the incidence of this genetic condition in cats. No breeder can guarantee that their cats will not develop this condition. However, MiracleCoon is dedicated to screening our breeding cats in a continued effort to produce healthy and sound Maine Coon cats to the best of our ability.
